Wrestling NEWS

WCW's praise continues to be heard, as last night, Thunder put on a great show. Sure, it's still got some kinks to get loose, but nonetheless, a good performance by WCW. If you noticed, they've got a new set as well, and finally some of the bigger names are starting to show up. As for tonight, we've got Smackdown, and you will not be deprived of a good show. Yesterday, I guess I spoiled a little too much, so I'll just keep my mouth shut today. *Also, before I get into any news, I just wanna' let you all know, I'm continuing "Babe Week" on TWW, and today I'm putting up HOT photo's of WWF's newest babe; Trish Stratus, as well as WCW knockout, Torrie Wilson.* Anyway, that sets the table, so enjoy the Update...

First off, I've got some great "Franchise" news. Shane Douglas updated his site, ShaneDouglas.com, with two great pieces of information...

*Shane himself says that he's more than interested in becoming Pro Wrestling's next writer. Shane tells the readers that he's already contacted a publisher that has shown a lot of benevolence in wanting to help him publish the autobiography.

*Shane and Mrs. Douglas were proud to announce that a "Little Franchise" has just entered into the world. He was very ecstatic on the big news, and says nothing in wrestling comes even close to see your first child being born. If you wanna' send him a "congratulations" note, just check out ShaneDouglas.com for details.

Speaking of wrestlers' websites, Spike Dudley posted his newest commentary up, earlier today. Instead of directly paraphrasing what he said, I'm just gonna' take out a direct clip from the update on his page. [SpikeDudley.Net] In the particular clip you will read, Spike talks about his feelings towards Mike Awesome's sudden leave from ECW to WCW...

"...Now, for the Awesome situation. Without getting into to much detail let me say this. I busted my ass for three months, literally busted my leg and will sit out close to a year in order to get a guy that signed a three year deal with my company over. That person walked out without any warning or without thought towards the people that put him into a position to leave. I wish I could say it didn't bother me, but it does..." Vince Russo has set it up in WCW so that, as of now, we've got "The Millionaires" vs. "The New Blood." In the next few weeks or so, expect a third group to be added, that fits right in the middle of those two sanctions. As of now, the plan is still being developed, as well as there being no title for the group, so far. Some of the stars being tossed around for this include Goldberg, Booker T., Buff Bagwell, and several others fitting their persona's. Who do YOU think might be thrown into this bunch of names? Drop me an e-mail, I'd be glad to take a look...

Just when you think Sabu might have finally found a new home in California's "XPW" promotion, ECW has to go and ruin the party. In a press release issued by XPW themselves, they say that "...due to ongoing legal problems with ECW, Sabu will NOT be appearing at the Los Angeles Sports Arena show on the 15th, nor will he be with us any time soon, for that matter...." Now, one could interpret that Sabu will contact his pals up in Stampede or the ICP's "JCW," however, the purpose of the legal threats issued by Heyman are to keep Sabu from signing flat-out ANYWHERE.

From what you read above, I'm sure you're picturing Paul Heyman as a grumpy, old, disgruntled man, however, with the recent success of "ECW: Hardcore Revolution," he's simply ecstatic with joy. Acclaim.com says that the game simply continues to surge in the charts, and is among its' top-sellers for N64, PSX, & Dreamcast. Take into fact that there have been close to sixty new games introduced this month since ECW: H.R.'s release, at which it still remains in the top ten for each game console list.

Within the past few days, there's been quite a lot of rumors of "jumps" and "signings," so, I've decided to put together a little list here that confirms all recent records of this.

*WCW Creative Team Member, Terry Taylor, has shown extreme interest in independent worker "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce. A spot in the WCW Power Plant is already being held for the youngster.

*Along with WCW wanting Kid Kash, Rhino, Sandman, etc., they've also showed major want in ECW valet, Electra. [Who the hell WOULDN'T want that fine piece of ace?]

*Now that they're out of their contracts with Turner and WCW, Barry and Kendall Windham are both talking with Paul Heyman about working some future ECW dates.

*Shawn Michaels "TWA" prospect and former champion, Venom, has received a ton of praise from all around "The Big 3." Don't be surprised if this future star signs a big deal, very soon.

*Eric Bischoff even backed up the rumors of WCW showing great need for legendary tag-team, The Road Warriors. Although, Animal and Hawk have denied to talks with WCW, so only time should tell on this particular tidbit.

*Speaking of Bischoff, he's the main source of want in Vader; who is currently working with Japan's NJPW. As mentioned in recent weeks, this would go along great, considering Vader even pointed out he would love to return to the United States to show off his improved skills.

Finally, I came across a report that speculates the April 30th "Backlash" card. Take it for what it's worth, as none of it's been confirmed on WWFBacklash.com... *^* Triple H -vs- The Rock - WWF World Title [Gimmick Match]

*^* Eddy Guerrero & Chyna -vs- Chris Jericho - [Handicap Match]

*^* Bull Buchannan & Big Bossman -vs- The Acolytes

*^* Dean Malenko -vs- Scotty 2 Hotty - [WWF Lightweight Title Match]

*^* Saturn -vs- Tazz
